Hello Polaris users!
New idea submission is now closed in Idea Lab. The new platform, Idea Exchange, will be open by early-mid May, so keep a note of any genius ideas you have and be ready to submit them there.
There is a lot to do in Idea Lab over the next couple of months! View, vote, and comment on all the ideas that catch your eye! Share them with colleagues!
We want to get as many ideas as possible through to the Product Review stage. Ideas in Product Review or Future Possibilities will be retained when we move away from the Spigot software, and most of those ideas will be included in a one-off vote challenge in the new platform. That challenge will provide a starting pool of ideas for the first annual prioritization process.
The purpose of this is to retain as many valuable ideas as possible and recognize that they have reached a stage where they are serious contenders for implementation. Ideas that may be implemented in Vega will be moved into the Vega space on the new platform.
These ideas from the Submission and Crowd Validation stages of the Polaris Always Open Space will expire this month without more activity:
Simply reports -item statistical reports that start with Assigned Branch and can be customized
Filter Picklist by Item-Specific Holds
Polaris API Additional Patron Methods (Genders and Free Text Blocks)
Dual publication pattern info visible in Leap
Ability to suppress holdings statements for serials from both the brief bib display and the availability areas
Allow overdue period to begin at library opening time, rather than midnight
Custom columns in record sets
Allow date searches to search for before a given date rather than only for a range
Improve the SIP Vendor Profile used by Bibliotheca SelfChecks
We will be posting updates and expiring ideas more frequently throughout this transition period. Thanks for taking the time to help carry these ideas forward!
