Creative conversion: using Sierra PostgreSQL to convert barcode and OCLC numbers to bib record lists

UNC Wilmington’s Randall Library developed two conversion apps using Sierra PostgreSQL that would allow library staff to generate a list of bib record numbers using either barcodes or OCLC numbers. This tool makes it possible to use a list of barcodes or OCLC numbers generated from other sources to create a review file of the titles by using the “Import Records” feature in Create Lists. This greatly improved efficiency for several batch processes and collaborative projects, and opened new possibilities for ways to manage workflows that involve compiling and/or editing bib records.
