Hello everyone,
I’m still reacclimating post conference but wanted to at least take a moment to pass along a couple of updates from our meetup and discussions afterwards.
First of all, for those who couldn’t attend in person I’m happy to report that we had quite a strong turnout so between that and our session in Wilton last December it has been great to see the sustained interest in continuing this group.
We discussed future plans and are aiming to hold another one day event in the first half of October, likely once again in the CT/NY/NJ area, and then hold another meeting up at the conference next year in Boston. There is some interest in a focused virtual event as well if a topic warrants it (Amazon Business for libraries absolutely came up though it was a general hot topic across the conference).
There was also a lot of conversation around the need for a consortia focused group that isn’t limited to our regional area. I know at least a few folks at Clarivate have already expressed interest in that and have had at least an initial discussion with the Steering Committee
I’m also trying to see if we can get this forum space configured so that we can just send an email to an address to start a new thread without having to create it within the forum itself. But for now if you want to reach the group you’ll need to either come over to the forum category and click on the New Topic button or reach out to those of us hanging out in the IUG Discord where we do have a dedicated #ne_iug channel.
