Mobile Self-Checkout for Customers - Empowering Customers with Polaris Technology

Since Richland Library went fine free in 2019 we’ve found that we’re trusting our customers more and more with our materials. When the pandemic hit in 2020, we decided to trust them even more. Many customers began looking for a way to do a “touchless” checkout. We decided to work on delivering this with something we called “mobile self-checkout”. With this service we allow customers to check out materials from our locations by using their own mobile device. They scan the barcodes on the items they wish to check out and they are immediately associated with the customer’s account.
