One year ago the Board of the first member in our consortium voted to have a trial period of no fines on juvenile and teen materials. Since then, it has been a whirlwind of other member library boards following suit ranging from 100% fines free to only juvenile and teen materials. This presentation will look at current research and trends along with the practical aspects of loan rule adjustments, rule determiner table updates, setting effective dates, public reaction AND how we did this in our consortium of INDEPENDENT libraries.
