IUG 2021 Virtual Presentation: Hot Hot Hotspots!

It’s that time of the week! Grab a cup of coffee (extra hot!) and enjoy this week’s featured presentation from the IUG conference. Many thanks to the legendary Kathy Setter and Barbara Krueger for a look at how libraries can play a role in reducing the digital divide through the distribution of hotspots.

Hot Hot Hotspots!
Internet connectivity can still be a challenge for some people; availability, affordability, and speed all affect the digital divide. Enter the library, offering hotspots for checkout to help their patrons get connected. Learn how the libraries in St. Croix County, Wisconsin got funding from the County for hotspots, what went into getting them ready to circulate, and what system changes needed to be made for a successful program. Although system settings will be done in Sierra, concepts apply to any ILS.

Attached is the IUG 2021 presentation (.pptx) Hot, Hot, Hotspots! from Kathy Setter, IFLS Library System and Barbara Krueger, Library Director, Deer Park Public Library/IFLS Library System - enjoy!
