Printing spine and pocket labels directly through Sierra can be a frustrating experience. In theory Print Templates allows you to specify fonts and font sizes, but the process requires many clicks and guess work. Here I introduce a standalone Windows program (freely available) which greatly simplifies the process. The software allows you to scan an item’s barcode and then it queries your Sierra database for the title and call number. A mini graphic editor allows you to very quickly choose fonts, stack the various parts, center or justify the call number and print it on a Zebra TLP2844 thermal printer.
