Dewey Renewed and a Building that Floats

Dewey Renewed and a Building that Floats

The Central Library in Tulsa has reopened after a 3-year renovation, but the building isn’t the only thing that got remodeled. As part of the project, we looked at how the collection is used, where it is housed, how it is labeled and which collections live next to each other. In order to keep the collection fresh and up-to-date, we developed a customized classification system we call Dewey Renewed and utilize floating collections to move materials around the building. In this session, we’ll tell you what we did, how we did it, and how it’s working out so far!
