Automating Monthly Clean Up (Sierra)

Program Title: Automating Monthly Clean Up
Presentation Type: Lightning Round
Track: System Administration
ILS: Sierra
Program Description: With multiple people performing many different tasks in a catalog, things are bound to get messy. Each month, running a few basic (and some not-so-basic) SQL queries to find invalid fields and subfields, duplicates, and other problems can help control the chaos and keep it clean(er). Automating these SQL queries with python reduces the time required to run the queries. This lightning round will cover some of the various clean up SQL queries, provide a brief overview of how to convert them into a python script, and provide a GitHub repository of existing queries you can adapt to your needs.
