Program Description: Since 2019, Yellowhead Regional Library staff have been developing and refining methods to assess collections for diversity, equity and inclusion. YRL management will review two different assessment projects completed in rural public libraries: one method using Library of Congress Subject headings and another using item lists and Canadian census data to help collections better reflect community demographics. The presentation will focus on procedures in Polaris and SimplyReports, lessons learned, and how to connect findings to community needs and demographics.
