Zebra label printers

I know people ask this often but we would like to inquire about which Zebra Label printers work well with Polaris for spine given that several models like TLP 3844 have been discontinued. The currently available Zebra ZD621t is supposed to be as compatible as the aforementioned model but our library is considering a purchase and we would like to see what others are running before we commit. Thank you!

We have been buying the ZD410s second hand and they work well for our 1” Dymo spine labels. They do need to be configured so that the spacing is correct on each computer connecting to them in both Polaris and the printer driver software. I’ve found that the models with the cutters built in can sometimes retract too far and pull the label off the rollers, requiring a reload and wasting a label and staff time. Another feature we have found useful is the network connectivity. We have multiple workstations print to a single label printer and they automatically cut the labels into a basket so we can provide access to multiple users without having to buy a printer for each desk in spaces where it’s used less frequently. I know it’s not a current model, but these are considerations we had when looking at the newer models in that line as well.

We use the ZD421, and it works just fine with Polaris.
