Program Title: Vega Rollups and Your Bibliographic Records: Making Them Work for Your Users
Track: Vega
Program Description: As Vega has evolved, libraries have developed creative strategies to ensure their materials roll up (or don’t roll up) appropriately within the system’s MARC-to-BIBFRAME conversion and roll-up logic. Join colleagues from three different libraries—representing both standalone institutions and consortia—as they share how they approached a range of challenges, including video games, series statements, travel guides, and more.
Although some of the solutions discussed may no longer be necessary due to recent Vega upgrades, they provide practical insight into the kinds of decisions and adjustments libraries have made along the way. These examples may be especially helpful for libraries considering a transition to Vega or refining their records to better serve users and reduce frustration when searching for specific formats. This session will be an opportunity not only to learn from real-world experiences, but also to exchange ideas—attendees are encouraged to bring their own perspectives, questions, and strategies to enrich the conversation.
