We recently added Vega Interact so we can do true text messages instead of email-to-SMS. Overall, it’s working well, but I noticed that missing part notices still show up in our logs as 1234567@carrier.com instead of as just the phone number. I contacted the Vega implementation team and they confirmed that the system doesn’t support missing part notifications, so if someone has text as their primary notification option, they won’t receive a notification at all.
I asked for advice on how Vega recommends customers work around that, and they recommend changing sysadmin settings so that missing parts notices always go out via email instead of the patron’s notification preference. However, patrons who get notices via text normally do so because they don’t use email, so that’s not a solution that makes sense to me.
Can anyone who is using Interact Text notices tell me how they are handling missing part notifications?
