Vega Display on Catalog Computers in library

Hello all,

Just curious if others have seen any issues with Vega displaying correctly on catalog computers in branches?

Our catalog computers are Windows 10 and on DeepFreese. We have 2 Vega kiosk profiles for our catalog computers - catalog and kids. Branches have complained about various intermittent issues with the display of both these Vega interfaces on these computers. For example, the logo disappears or just have the text ‘library name’ displayed in the corner, books rivers disappear, etc. Reloading usually fixes that. Often, it varies in one branch, the catalog computers have multiple issues. For example, at one branch checking catalog computers in the am:

-Two of the catalogs had the “library name” text in the corner and would not respond until page restarted
-one had our logo in the corner and would not respond until page reloaded
-two had our logo but loaded to a 404:not found screen when I clicked on a book river book - like the bug from a week or so ago that has been fixed
-One worked normally right away

Restarting the pcs and got the following results:
-two worked normally after restart
-two came up with white screens and needed page reloads to work again
-one came up working normally, but displayed “library name” until I reloaded the page
-one came up with a mostly white screen but had our logo and search bar. A click on our logo brought the page up fully and was usable, no refresh needed

I’m so confused as to what is happening. Has anyone seen anything similar or have ideas about what is going on?

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like we kind of the same set-up in that we use the ‘kiosk’ feature for catalog computers. We have not experienced that behavior, yet. One difference for us is that our Windows machines are set to kiosk mode and automatically do a hard reset of the browser every 10 or so minutes. There is a timeout feature in the Vega admin and I wonder if you set that if it would ‘reset’ everything. Kind of a turn it off-and-on kind of thing.

Thanks for the reply! We are using the Vega timeout, but I’m not sure if we are doing a machine timeout. Perhaps we need to be doing the machine reset to keep things “fresh” so to speak.

I’m wondering if some part of it is a network speed issue - like with the logo display, no book rivers displaying.
