Program Description: In September 2021, the SILS public library consortium began work on a project to replace outdated and inaccurate Indigenous subject headings. The project involved coordination among member libraries and departments, a significant amount of in-house work, and a lot of trial and error. Because MARCIVE was already providing overnight processing for authorities heading maintenance, they were natural partners for handling the updates, ongoing maintenance, and asking some very helpful questions. This session will provide an overview of the project process, outcomes to date, next steps, and lessons learned.
