A new topic was posted here today about 3rd party tools to help with registration and address data validation. So…. I wondered what Sierra users were doing.

Does anyone use an address validation plug-in or software with Sierra for library card applications? So, like something where it will autocomplete addresses with correct formatting (like things you see with websites or when you are ordering something)? Or, a scan program where we could scan IDs and have the info autopopulate?

Hello @ewright.  By removing some of the legwork for unwanted patrons outside of your service area, autocompletion of addresses would make it easier for these patrons to self-register.  This would then lead to a possibly burdensome and costly demand for your electronic resources.

We’ve been using Quipu Group’s eCard product for a few years now and are very happy with it.  You will find few software vendors as flexible as Quipu Group.
