This session will cover what you can do to protect the privacy of patron data and to help patrons protect their own privacy. This will include Sierra, Millennium, and related systems, as well as public computer setup and other library technology. We’ll also cover things like library policies, classes for patrons, what threats exist, and what can happen to people if their data falls into the wrong hands. The focus will be on public libraries but the presentation will be relevant to other types of libraries as well.
