Hi!

Thank you to everyone who has helped with the myriad of questions I have had lately! I hope I can be as helpful in the future (once I learn more!!).

And, I have another question for folks - thank you in advance for any help you can provide!

For some years, we have used OpenAthens as our authentication portal to allow patrons into our databases remotely. We initially set this up when we used Ebsco Discovery Layer with Sierra/Encore. We have now moved to Polaris with Vega. Our previous procedure had been to create a new API Key in OpenAthens when one expired, then pop that Key into a table of allowed keys over at Sierra.

However, Polaris is telling us they only use keys created in the Polaris Admin portal. But OpenAthens won’t let us place one over there.

Is anyone using OpenAthens with Polaris in any form? If so, how do you manage the API Keys?

We use OpenAthens for patron access to our electronic databases and EDS, but not Polaris/Vega at this point. On the OA side, Ebsco setup a connector to Polaris that uses the Polaris API. We just migrated from SirsiDynix Symphony a little over a year ago, so we are still getting the hang of what we can and can’t do with Polaris. :slight_smile:
