Polaris 7.7 Has Arrived!
Polaris 7.7 was released on October 29, 2024, and continues the work of moving technical services and system administration into Leap. This release also contains enhancements from the IUG Member Exclusive Enhancement Program (MEEP).
Per Innovative, highlights of this release include:
- Split Screen MARC Editor – Introduces the ability for catalogers to compare and edit multiple bibliographic records on a single screen in Leap.
- Additional Acquisitions in Leap – Support for receiving ASN shipments, managing sub-funds, and distributing credits, charges, and tax on invoices.
- Saved Filters and Recent Search History – Allows staff to save filters as part of their search defaults and provides easy access to re-run a recent search from the Find Tool.
- Record Sets in Saved SimplyReports – Provides the option to configure a saved report to create a record set each time it is run.
For a complete feature list, please read the What’s New in Polaris 7.7. In addition, on November 20th, Innovative hosted a Polaris 7.7 webinar to review the highlights and features – PIAC invites you to take a moment to watch the recording!
TIP FROM PIAC:
Moving System Administration into the web-based site is a feature that must be turned on first. After you have upgraded to 7.7, if you do not have access to the web-based Polaris SA, please reach out to your Site Manager to have this enabled.
PIAC did not meet with Innovative during October or November, nor will we meet in December.
Next meeting with Innovative is planned for January 2025.
