Monitoring LX Starter failures?

Hi all,

Has anyone figured out a good way to monitor that LX Starter is successfully sending out notifications on schedule? We just found out that our email notices have not been going out for more than a WEEK. Our ILS Polaris) has been exporting them, but LX Starter has not been receiving them. We receive a daily email from Polaris (set up in SA settings) confirming that the email notification export has happened, but I can’t find anywhere in Vega that allows you to set up any kind of daily reporting to indicate that it’s received an export or that notices have been processed.

Logging in to the Vega platform every morning and checking seems insane for something that has been the point of failure twice in two years, but I don’t know what else to do.

One of the things we did in our system when we integrated with iTiva was monitored the patron accounts for any UPDATES that showed a notice was delivered. I think it depends on when Vega would update the patron account. If it updates upon creation, then it wouldn’t help any. But if it only updates the patron accounts as the notices are delivered, then something like this might be a viable method.

@eolmstead Emma, I have Sierra configured to cc all patron notifications to a Patron.Notices@starklibrary.org address, which permits me to monitor and confirm what has gone out.  This has proven tremendously helpful over the years.

We don’t use LX Starter, but does the product offer a similar cc or bcc feature?

Thanks, Bob! Unfortunately LX Starter does not offer the cc or bcc feature.

We’ll look into this strategy. Thanks for the suggestion!
