Marcive replacement with backstage

Hi All,
Our library system is looking into replacing the services provided by Marcive with Backstage
We used Marcive to review our MARC Authority records to ensure that our subject headings, Name Authority Lists, and Series Names Authorities are current when we create new MARC records or bring in new MARC records.
Here are some descriptions of what MARCIVE billed us for:
• Electronic Statistical Summary Report
• Accelerated Reader Study Notes Processing
• Authority Processing, Per Record Overnight (we were usually only billed for this servive)
• Electronic Unrecognized Main Heading Report
• Lexile Measure Notes Processing
• Reading Counts Study Notes Processing
• Electronic Partial Match Report

Questions
Does anyone else use Backstage for a similar service?
From the Sierra ILS perspective how difficult was it to get these records of your system when you started?
Thank you for any information you can give,
Jennifer

We switched from Marcive to Backstage over the winter. We’re on Polaris, so I can’t speak to the export/import parts of the process for you, but working with Backstage and setting up a comparable profile with them was a positive experience.

Thank you, this is helpful knowing you had a positive experience!

We use Backstage for our Authorities processing (and for various special projects) and our experiences have always been good. They are flexible with customizing our record set how we want it, so I don’t think you’ll have any issues with export/import. We did at one point have a little snag where we realized they weren’t sending us the records in UTF-8, but it was easily fixed once we figured out the issue. I’m happy to answer more detailed questions if you have any.
