Introduction

Prince William Public Libraries is seeking a Technology Services Division Chief (Senior Business Services Administrator) to join our high performing leadership team. This management-level position inspires, leads, and applies innovation and creativity to team and project management. The successful candidate will embrace and promote these ideas as they lead a committed group of technology services staff to achieve the goals of the new 2024-2028 Strategic Plan. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable and excited by emerging trends in libraries and is passionate about providing responsive, high quality customer service. They are a thoughtful leader who excels in interpersonal communication and collaborative leadership, project management, as well as daily operational and organizational responsibilities.

About This Role:

  • Supervises 2 Supervisors directly including creating and writing annual evaluations, hiring staff, facilitating the staff discipline process and managing employees to improve/maximize performance.
  • Provides Technology Services Division budget oversite, completing all applicable financial paperwork.
  • Provides excellent internal customer service with staff and county agencies.
  • Manages Technology Services Division projects and operations.
  • Serves on various committees.
  • Member of the Library Leadership Team.

Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or G.E.D. and 8 years of information technology experience to include supervisory experience.

Preferences:

  • Experience with Information Technology services for public use
  • Progressive supervisory experience
  • Experience managing a budget
  • Project management experience
  • Experience implementing new technology for public use
  • Experience evaluating, editing, and creating policies and procedures
  • Experience managing library technology

Special Requirements: The position may require travel to Library branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week exempt position located at the Administrative Support Center. Office Hours are 8a.m. – 5p.m. Monday – Friday and this unit will need to be available while library branches are open in case of emergency situations, while this position will need to be available for escalated situations. This position is expected to work in the office with the ability for occasional telework.

Starting Salary Range: $96,076.50 - $110,487
