For those of you who use Kajeet as your mobile hotspot provider, how do you like it? Do you check out in both platforms or just Kajeet? Would an integration with Polaris/Leap be something you would get behind?
Kajeet is okay. They are a lot cheaper than other providers, but their systems are really designed for schools, not for public libraries. We have had trouble getting their support team to understand our setup and challenges.
We did not bother to use Kajeet’s device management portal for tracking checkouts. We track the checkouts in Polaris and just use the Kajeet portal to suspend overdue devices. If you include the device IMEI in the item record, it’s easy to locate the device in the Kajeet portal.
