Our member-driven organization seeks a creative and collaborative User Experience Specialist to join our team. At CCS, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall user experience for our 31 member libraries and the communities they serve. A successful candidate will have:

  • A passion for user-centered design
  • Deep understanding of library services
  • Strong analytical skills to help interpret user research, data, and feedback
  • Ability to problem solve and find creative and effective solutions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with library staff and patrons

In addition to conducting usability testing and recommending best practices, you’ll develop effective documentation and training tools to empower our members. All CCS staff provide training, support, and consulting in their areas of expertise to our member libraries.

Some projects you’ll work on:

  • Design and implement user testing in partnership with member libraries, covering topics such as patron notices and online search and discovery
  • Take ownership of online catalog testing, customization, and support. Develop best practices for catalog customization in collaboration with an advisory group of library staff
  • Partner with other CCS staff to assess current member-facing web tools, including the CCS website. Develop recommendations to improve usability

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Pay: Starting at $55,969-$69,961 depending on experience.

This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our member libraries and foster strong relationships within the library community. In this role, you will:

  • Conduct Virtual and In-Person Training: Lead engaging training sessions covering all aspects of the Polaris ILS, from circulation to cataloging.
  • Provide Technical Support and Consulting: Offer technical support and consulting services to member libraries, ensuring the ILS is running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Develop Online Training Materials: Create and maintain online training materials, including website content and courses, to provide member library staff with up-to-date and accessible resources.
  • Build Relationships: Foster relationships with member library staff through networking meetings and on-site visits, understanding their unique needs and challenges.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
Pay: Starting at $46,225-$57,819 depending on experience.
