Salary: $52,700 to $65,000 per year DOQ and experience

The Poplar Creek Public Library District is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cataloging Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both original and copy cataloging and be comfortable working with a variety of formats, including print materials, serials, audiovisual materials, and more.

Job Duties

Perform original and copy cataloging for library materials in multiple formats.

Create, edit, import, and maintain MARC records to ensure accurate bibliographic access.

Apply current cataloging standards and best practices, including RDA and/or AACR2.

Maintain authority control and ensure the integrity of the library catalog.

Work with OCLC and other cataloging utilities as needed.

Assist with collection maintenance and may assume selected collection development responsibilities.

Participate in library meetings and serve on library and/or community committees as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: MLS degree or equivalent MLIS degree from an accredit institution.
Experience: Three (3) or more years of cataloging experience. Experience with cataloging standards and practices with a high degree of skill, accuracy, and appropriate speed. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to high-quality bibliographic records.
Hours & Work Schedule: 37.50 hrs. per week: 9-5 Mondays through Fridays. Schedules subject to change dependent upon the needs of the library.
