Innovative Integration: ILLiad, NCIP, Navigator
Previous efforts at including items borrowed from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan have proven cumbersome for Occidental College. We installed and tested Innovative’s NCIP product in August 2016. It has successfully streamlined processing and eliminated errors for transactions from our Illiad server. OCLC’s Navigator service could only use SIP2 for this integration in the past and holds were not supported. With NCIP holds are now placed and this switch in protocols has again greatly streamlined our processing of borrowed items.
