Customizing fields in notices

Hello, is it possible to customize which MARC fields display in a notification? For instance, is there a way to omit the Barcode field, and/or reorder the other fields, in a hold pick-up notice? Thanks in advance for your help.

For Polaris, the item record would contain the barcode information.

Adjusting the built in notices is not for the faint of heart, but it is possible if you have full reporting control over your own server. The notices can be customized by creating custom versions of the RDL files that Polaris uses for the notices and putting them in a special report folder location. You can find more information about this process by reviewing my presentation from a few years back, the details are on page 132. You’ll need to know about using SQL and about reporting services for this to be effective. Optionally, if you contact sales, they may be willing to help connect you with a specific development process to build new customized notices for you. I don’t recommend that as you have to check on it every upgrade because this can break during the upgrade.

If you’re primarily concerned with editing email notices, you may want to get in touch with your Innovative sales representative about the free LX Starter notice package available to all Polaris customers. MessageBee is also another platform my customers (including CLC) have found good success with.
