Collection Development Cues from INN-Reach
Santa Clara University is leveraging patron-initiated borrowing data from INN-Reach to inform collection development. We have been looking at multiple years of borrowing data–with spending data and circulation data of local collections–from our library and two peer institutions in our consortium, to understand what a “normal” level of borrowing is and identify collection gaps. We also use the data to strengthen the meta-collection of our consortium (LINK+) through coordinated diversification of purchasing. This presentation will discuss methodology and findings: how data is being analyzed and used on our campus to inform collection development decisions.
