The Cataloging and Metadata Services Department at the University of North Texas Library is seeking to hire two Cataloging Librarians to work collaboratively with department, division, and other library personnel to perform original and complex cataloging of materials. The Cataloging Librarians will report to the Department Head of Cataloging and Metadata Services (CMS) and will be responsible for catalog records and related data resources in a variety of languages, subjects, and formats. The librarians will work collaboratively within the CMS department to maintain a comprehensive and precise catalog of holdings for the UNT Libraries, assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures for bibliographic and authority control, and facilitate planning and process improvements. The librarians are expected to perform original and complex copy cataloging by providing full and accurate resource description and subject analysis according to international and local standards. The Cataloging Librarians will also work collaboratively with the Libraries’ other departments and divisions.

UNT librarians hold fixed duration Professional Faculty status, and are expected to participate in scholarly, professional, and service activities that enhance their departmental responsibilities.
