We have record sets of bibs for titles we ordered through a certain vendor that is shuttering that we are trying to shift other vendors. Our acq staff deleted all the on-order item records. In order to allow holds to be placed while they go through the tedious process of re-ordering, we would like to create placeholder item records IN BULK for each bib in the record sets so patrons and staff can continue to place holds. Is this possible in Polaris?
We came up with a workaround involving creating a fake PO to attach item records with a value of 1 cent each. Once the real on order records are attached, it should be easy enough to identify and delete these.
