Building an In-Demand Collection: Demand-Driven Acquisition for eBooks

Building an In-Demand Collection: Demand-Driven Acquisition for eBooks

How can a public library improve customer satisfaction with electronic resources when the vendor manages the user interface? What are some strategies for maximizing use of the collection? How can we recruit and retain new eBook users? In 2016, Sno-Isle Libraries developed Demand-Driven Acquisition (DDA) with our eBook vendor to allow customers to instantly access digital materials, whether we owned them yet or not. In this session, Sno-Isle Libraries staff will share the results of the Demand-Driven Acquisition project, adjustments that we made along the way, and lessons learned that informed the direction for DDA in 2017.
