Currently we cannot print spine labels thru client or LEAP Web Application v7.6.37191.1.
We print spine labels only. No pocket labels.
We were using DEMCO sheet label stock Multi-Purpose Laser Labels 1-1/2" x 7/8" White 3000/Box Item # W14217680. Polaris Support discovered a bug in the config that makes it impossible to configure this label stock.
Polaris Support suggested switching to another label stock.
Has anyone successfully configured another label stock that produces 1-1/2" x 7/8" spine labels?
I am also interested in printing labels on-demand using roll label stock and thermal printers. We have never produced labels this way before.
Is this possible to configure in LEAP 7.6?
What brand of roll stock and printer works for you?
This article may help. It requires a Clarivate support login, so I’ve also downloaded a PDF and attached it here: 240923131935907.pdf (2.3 MB)
It is about switching from printing in the client to Leap, but some of the details about figuring out margins and how to edit label types might be useful to you.
I don’t have any experience using DEMCO labels, but you should definitely be able to print from a roll, either batch or on demand.
I work for a consortium, and the member libraries use a variety of different label stocks. I don’t know what they all are, but I think most of the libraries use custom label types.
One thing to consider, if you edit a custom label from within Label Manager rather than from the Admin module, it will create a label type that is specific to that workstation. That is fine as long as you know which workstation you are logging into in Leap. We had some locations where all workstations had the same name, so staff were editing label types in the client for one workstation, then unknowingly logging into a different workstation in Leap and not seeing the edit to the label type.
