Bookmobile Rebrand and Systems Approach

Hi all - we are in the process of replacing our Bookmobile, and have decided to rebrand it as a Mobile Library instead. As you can imagine, there are a lot references to Bookmobile in Sierra.

If you have done a similar rebrand, how did you approach the systems changes?

  • Create a new location
  • Relabel the existing location with the new terms
  • New loan rules, or slight modifications
  • What did you learn after you made this change, and what would you do differently

I re-labeled the existing location and modified the existing rules as needed. I wouldn’t do anything differently.

A benefit to creating a new location code is that it would be very clear in stats as to when the re-branding occurred!
