# Question here - adjusting Forum notifications by product interest

Wondering if there’s a way in terms of settings where, sadly, we can set specific notifications by product or EXCLUDE specific notifications by product, ie., much as I love ya all, I would probably not be interested in a lot of the comments on, say Polaris, or Vega - Is there a “profile” somewhere where we can tick the possible key products to indicate which ones we are more globally interested in. I see the tags, but know also that some people (like me) rarely remember to tag anything 😉 Just curious if we can somehow sculpt our profiles to reflect items of interest.

You can modify [your profile](https://forum.innovativeusers.org/my/preferences/account) to mute categories, like Polaris. You can also mute specific threads.
## To mute a category
- Go to the category page, like #Polaris
- In the upper right-hand corner click the bell and change to **Muted**
- OR edit the list of **Muted** categories in [your profile](https://forum.innovativeusers.org/my/preferences/categories):
- Make sure to click **Save Changes**
- OR at the bottom of any emails, click **Unsubscribe** and you’ll be presented with a variety of similar options.
## To mute tags
- Find the [tag](https://forum.innovativeusers.org/tags) you want to mute
- For example #mobile
- Click the bell and select the **Muted** option
## Mute a thread
You can also mute a thread if a particular topic is not interesting to you.
- Scroll to the bottom of the topic
- Click the Bell icon and then click **Muted**
- You will no longer be notified about this thread
## Adjust digest settings
- You can also adjust how frequently you get Activity Summary digests [your profile](https://forum.innovativeusers.org/my/preferences/emails)
- By default, they are set to be daily
- Make sure to click **Save Changes**

Don’t forget that once you have your email notifications dialed in, [you can email in new topics](https://forum.innovativeusers.org/t/i-dont-want-to-use-the-forum-web-interface-enabling-the-email-listserv-setting/212#starting-new-topic-threads-via-email-3), and you don’t have to use the web forum at all.
