# IUG 2021 Virtual Presentation: Fine-Freedom: Making the Case and Making the Change

Over the past 4 years, more than one-third of member public libraries in Western Wisconsin’s MORE consortium have eliminated overdue fines and, in most cases, waived existing fines. This _2021 IUG Virtual Conference_ session, presented by Lori Roholt and Kathy Setter of the IFLS Library System, covers how consortium staff provided a range of statistics about the potential impact of going fine-free to library decision-makers, and helped to implement the change once approved.
